Papers, 1946-1992.

The papers of Daniel Troen Moe document the forty year choral music career of this educator, conductor and composer. Papers include a scrapbook and autobiographical account ("The Soaring Bird Gesangbuch"), articles and reviews about Moe, and a dissertation ("The Choral Music of Daniel Moe, 1952-67"). Performance programs document his work as a conductor, and original and printed compositions document his compositional career at both the University of Iowa and Oberlin College. A chronological file of tour records documents the numerous choral tours led by Moe. Articles and textbook writings provide evidence of his influence as one of this country's most prominent figures in choral music in general and Lutheran church music in particular. Photographs and sound recordings further detail his contribution to his creative leadership and contributions to choral music.
